Fall 2012
SPAN 202 Intermediate Spanish II A-
CHHS 435 Introduction to Nonprofit Management/Administration A-
JAPN 309 Japanese Literature in Translation A
WLC 300 Major ProSeminar CR
SPAN 202: This course was my last course in lower division Spanish, however, it was a class mostly conducted in English and the idea was the have students be fluent enough to move onto upper division courses. This particular course was probably the most frustrating course in my entire academic career. I was one of two students were took the class seriously and actually wanted to learn Spanish. So with that in mind, my professor would cater to the rest of the class and conduct lectures in English which I found incredibly difficult to learn Spanish that way.
JAPN 309: First and only course I took which revolved around the Japanese culture and initially I felt lost. I had no knowledge or insight into Japanese culture so I felt I would not do well but I ended up learning a great deal and learned to embrace another culture exceedingly different than my own. This course fulfilled MLO 4: Secondary Cultural Knowledge and it was indeed a class I shall not forget. I may not remember all the readings from the course but it was still interesting to take a course that is completely different than anything you know.
WLC 300: This courses seems like it was ages ago and honestly I do not remember much of it because I did not find it a useful course. It would have been nice to have the e-portfolio as an assignment for that course instead of WLC 400, which is supposed to focus on Capstone. This course felt like I was back I high school and learning simple things in which I already knew.
